All of us at Sue's Place bring a variety of perspectives to the children and the program as a whole; yet work together to create an atmosphere of fun and predictability to the children and families with the ultimate goal of forming long-lasting relationships through supporting each other's efforts. We have a very comfortable working relationship, and put a strong emphasis on ongoing professionalism and communication to best serve our children and families

Susan DesRoberts
Sue has worked in the childcare field for over 30 years. Spending time in childcare centers and family childcare. Head teacher, pre-k teacher, family childcare owner, & former leader of a local child care support network has all been titles that she has worked under. Susan earned her C.D.A. in 2002 and has taken extensive college classes and trainings to qualify as the director of this facility.
Sue works with children to develop their interests, challenging and piecing together their development; providing the atmosphere and resources necessary to develop cognitive, fine & gross motor, social, and communication & language skills in a nurturing group environment. Working with parents to share information about individual areas of development is the best way to understand the whole child and support growth.
Teaching Staff
All of the teachers hired here at Sue's Place go through a state required background check. All teachers are interviewed, and meet with Sue several times before being hired as a teacher. All teachers must be CPR and First Aid Certified, as a policy we participate in training every year to practice the skills necessary in the event we have to care for a sick or injured person.
All of the teachers are required to yearly achieve 40 hours of documented training. Most of our teachers exceed this amount of time. We attend many conferences and trainings which occur on evenings and weekends, after working many long days in the center. All of the teachers are very dedicated and professional to provide the quality care that is expected as a member of the Sue's Place Child Care team. Sue is proud to share with families that her teacher turn over rate is very low. Most teachers in the program have been employeed by Sue since her center grand opening in 2007.
